Your Unfinished Business: Find God in Your Circumstances - Serve Others in Theirs
About the book

Easily read in a day but valuable for a lifetime, Your Unfinished Business: Find God in Your Circumstances - Serve Others in Theirs teaches you how to build the capacity it takes to become an effective servant. The secret is that servants start as stewards of their own circumstances, and for followers of Jesus Christ, stewardship of circumstances is the heart of effective servanthood.

How can we build that same capacity that gives us the servant's resilient heart? Leroy Hurt discovered the secret in his mother’s example. Widowed in the Philippines during World War Two when enemy occupation forces executed her first husband, she later left a successful dental practice to raise a child with Down Syndrome and then cared for her second husband through ten years of debilitating and terminal illness. She had unfinished business because a servant’s work is never done.

You can learn the same principles and practices that will make you an effective steward of your circumstances. You’ll learn how becoming God’s friend presents you with unfinished business, how making God's priorities your own let's you see from His perspective, and how becoming a servant makes you God’s blessing to others.

Foreword by Dr. Larry R. Donnithorne

President Emeritus of Colorado Christian University, author of The West Point Way of Leadership

"After reading Your Unfinished Business, I personally felt compelled to put off the distractions, excuses, and rationalizations and take the first step, in faith and without all the answers we'd like to have, to be part of God's plan for Burma instead of following my own plan. We started a public non-profit charity in August 2008, The Jericho Alliance and are now supporting a medical clinic that serves 10,000 displaced people, who live in 14 villages in the war zones of Burma."

George Tronsrue, venture capitalist and founder of The Jericho Alliance

"The entertainment world makes the tenuous claim of reflecting real life, but Leroy Hurt's book is the 'real deal.' It explains in clear prose how to live a real life."

Don Ingalls, writer, producer, and director for Gunsmoke, Star Trek, Fantasy Island, and others, and author of The Watchers on the Mountain

"Leroy Hurt shines a light on the path of pursuing your unfinished business...say goodbye to stumbling around in the dark and hello to enlightenment."

Jeff McQuarrie, filmmaker and creator of Legends of the Palouse
